Wandle Fortnight is a community-led celebration of all things Wandle. It runs from September 8th to September 23rd. Let us know using the registration form if you are organising an event or activity during this period so we can promote it.
Wandle Fortnight 2017
The celebration of all things Wandle is over for another year. We were delighted by the record number of more than 70 events and the support which came from all those who attended. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who did so much to make Wandle Fortnight a success. We plan to run another celebration in September 2018 so do let us have any feedback on what can be improved and what you would like to see.
We were delighted to support 23 community groups in the Wandle Valley with over £3,000 of small grants between £40 and £200 for their events and activities during Wandle Fortnight 2017. Our thanks to the Living Wandle Landscape Partnership, Goldcrest Land and L&Q for their support.
Wandle Fortnight 2016
In September 2016 over 50 activities were put on by the community for Wandle Fortnight.
Wandle Valley Forum was pleased to support nine organisations with micro grants for their Wandle Fortnight activities. These were Friends in St Helier, Mole Valley Orienteering Club, Sutton and Wandle Valley Ramblers, Ethnic Minority Centre, Wild in the City, Mitcham Cricket Green Community & Heritage, Object Book, Wendelsworth Community Garden and Workshop 305.
We distributed £1000 to support events which attracted over 440 people and inspired over 220 volunteer hours for the benefit of the Wandle Valley.

We are grateful to the Living Wandle Landscape Partnership and the Heritage Lottery Fund for the support that made the micro grants scheme possible.
